Quake 5 would need to be very different, because Doom Eternal has already occupied the game loop of Quake. Only the endboss and possibly the inverted pentagram icon (as a possible ‘elder sign’) is blatantly of Lovecraft origin. In the game, players must find their way through various maze-like, medieval environments while battling a variety of monsters using a wide array of weapons.
